Swordsmanship

As can be obvious from the first cover of the Silver Dove series, swords are involved in the story. Whenever Colomba transforms into Silver Dove, she appears with a sword in her hand, just like how the Crow has a staff.

What was said in a previous post about martial arts applies here too, I wrote about what I know, and I know swords. As of this moment, I have been studying how to use the katana for around half of my life. Three years ago, I joined the traditional sword school of Shin Shin Ryu and I will be taking over the study group when my teacher moves away since I will be the highest ranking student. This is why that, even though Silver Dove uses a European style long sword, when Colomba is usually seen practicing, she uses a katana since that is what I know the most about.

I do have some experience with the Germanic long sword, but my knowledge on that subject is minor. Even though I know less about that type of sword, I still wanted to have a European style sword since it fit the character better and will also fit better with the mythology of the Silver Dove Pin that you will see later in the series.

Since I have knowledge of these weapons, everything that is written about the weapons is true such as how they are used and the methodology with them. Some of course has been exaggerated since the story is fictional, but that’s what can make it more interesting. Hopefully, you can find some enjoyment with the swordplay present.
