I thought that considering the last blog post, this would be an appropriate subject, especially since this subject has been on my mind the last few weeks.
Since most of my posts in relation to bullying have been about my theories with the human mind on specific subjects, this shall be the same.
Bullied people killing themselves over what they have been experiencing has been a subject or at least a plot point in many movies, TV shows, and books. Many of us realize that it is not a wise thing to kill yourself due to bullying, but the sad fact is that youth does not come with wisdom, that comes through age and experience.
Human beings are known to be social animals, meaning we need other people to survive, both physically and mentally. This is why solitary confinement is seen as a punishment. If you are left without human interaction for too long, it is possible for that person to lose their mind. This is similar to the mind of someone being bullied.
Although that person may still have human interaction, it is negative, we need positive human interaction to have a healthy mind. Without the positive interaction, anxiety, depression, and other mental distress will likely occur. With these negative things going on within the mind, suicide can seem like a good idea. Without a positive system of support the person may try to go through with their attempt. If someone does attempt but does not succeed, remember not to beat them down further by scolding them, provide them with the support they need. They need to see that there is still light in the world and great things about them, even if others keep trying to point out their flaws. Instead of speaking to them, listen instead, for that is what they need.
