Hello everyone, I returned not too long ago from my honeymoon and decided that since I was celebrating getting married, it would be good to discuss love when it comes to my writing.
Growing up, I usually hated how they presented love in stories since, even as a child, it felt unrealistic. Within my stories, I decided to change that. Within my first series of Death’s Assistant, I made it so that they outwardly presented that they hated each other, but once Jake became part of the pack he decided to pursue his feelings. I made sure that he would have to work to be able to change her feelings, since most would find it to forgive in regards to everything he had done in the past. Once he had done that, she was more willing to interact with him in a positive manner. I made it like this since I felt that it made them more like most people. A person would want to feel like they could trust who they are with, and when it came to Alba and Jake, it took a while for that trust to be fully earned.
For Colomba and Luis, their little love story is probably all too familiar with a lot of people. One person is madly in love with the other, but is too afraid to say anything, so they instead become very good friends. While friends, one continues to pine over the other and the other starts to develop feelings for that friend. Since they are such good friends though, they don’t speak about their feelings since that might ruin the friendship. So instead of being happy and being together, they are stuck keeping their feelings a secret to try and not ruin what they currently have. I witnessed something like this on a few occasions throughout my life, and it was always difficult to watch. A good portion of the time, they didn’t even believe me when I tried explaining to them that they both liked each other. They were too afraid to do anything about how they felt, which only caused them pain.
Love is not always fun, it is not always easy, but it is always worth it. To be loved is the most beautiful feeling in the world since you know that no matter what, someone will always be there for you, and will help you along your journey of life.
