Hello everyone, so if you paid attention to my last post you will know that I was at a Pride event this past Saturday with my books. It started off beautifully, everyone was having fun, but like with so many things in life, it turned sour because of a few sad, ignorant people.
Several people came to protest the event, stating that the entire thing was a sin and that the people at the event were turning against God.
This is one sad fact of life my friends, my books talk about bullying in school, but a lot of people fail to mention that bullying happens after you graduate too. There are people full of hate everywhere.
These people were shouting to innocent people that they will go to Hell unless they stop being who they are and follow what they say. These people are not the ones to listen to. No matter what God you believe in, God does not hate because you love someone. There is no sin in loving someone, only in hating, which is why I do not feel shame for what I did that day.
I erased the whiteboard that I was using to display the prices of my items and instead wrote in large letters “God Hates Haters”, and then held it while staying within the lines of the area the event was designated for (which these protestors were not allowed to enter), and I danced with it in front of them. Everyone who saw this laughed, these people who were showing this hate became a source of amusement instead of anger. Sometimes you must combat hatred with complete ridiculousness and humor. I will never be ashamed of this moment.
Never show hatred, for it only hurts you. Good luck to everyone, and especially those within the community, these are dark times for the community.
