Now that I have control over my website again, I can get caught up with some things I have been waiting to post.
Not too long ago, I released the book The Genius. In this story a young man was made fun of for being intelligent and was taken advantage of for it by being forced to do work for others.
So why do people get bullied for being intelligent?
The answer is surprisingly simple. I have said it here before, and I’m saying it again now: People fear what they don’t understand. A child who is less intelligent may view a more intelligent child as someone they don’t understand. Plus, the intelligent child probably gets a lot of praise for their intelligence by adults, the less intelligent child gets compared to more intelligent children constantly, and as the child gets older they will realize that the more intelligent child will more likely have a successful life than them.
This creates a cycle of jealousy that can cause the less intelligent child to act out against the intelligent child. It is a vicious cycle, but one that typically ends once school is over and then they both must face the world on their own.
