Hello everyone, it is lovely that we can still chat here during Pride Month.
So I’ve had a few people ask me this about me book Secrets Revealed; why did I reveal why she was getting bullied until the very end. For those who do not know, within Secrets Revealed the girl who gets gets powers is bullied because she is a lesbian, but you do not find this out until the book is nearly complete.
In full honesty, it is a very simple, albeit sad answer. Itis because I knew that if I put that near the beginning then if parents saw it they would not want their children to view it. I had been preparing for this book longer than you would expect. This can be seen by how I was constantly adding more darker and realistic elements to the story. This included PTSD, depression, instances of more extreme bullying for a kid’s book, and the fights being more dramatic. I wanted to see what I could get away with before anyone started to complain. That is why I did not introduce this specific reason for bullying until later in the series, I wanted to see what I could get away with. I’m happy to say that I could get away with this. For those of my fellow people within the community, I am sorry that it took so long for me to write about this important reason for why people get bullied, but I had to be careful. I had to make sure that people would not come after me for it. I only hope that you all can enjoy and relate to what I have written.
