How I Write

It has been said that to get a desired result it takes 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. This means that if you want something it takes inspiration, but mostly it takes work. This is very true when it comes to writing. Anybody can say that they want to write, but it takes a certain type of person to actually sit down and write it. If any of you are interested in taking up writing, I will explain to you my writing process which I hope can benefit you.

Let’s say that I have an idea for a story, the first thing I do is write down the idea either in a notebook dedicated just for my writing or on a flash drive. This is usually just a paragraph long description so I can remember it in case I can’t start writing the story at the time.

After that, when I am able to write the story, I will write 2-3 sentences for descriptions of different scenes. Once I have done that, when I feel compelled to write each of those scenes I will do so. When a few of these scenes have been written, I will then fill in the blanks between them. I will then keep repeating this process until the story is complete.

Most people think that when you write, it has to be in order. This causes them to be frustrated since they cannot figure out what happens next and they give in. Like I just explained with my writing process, it doesn’t have to be that way.

If you want to write, do it any way you please, just don’t give up on it. Think of how many amazing books there would be in the world if there were more people who did not give in. Hopefully you can be one of those people.

    • Well thank you very much. For me, writing should not be seen as something difficult. Writing should be a reflection of how you think. If you think things through in parts instead of as a whole, like me, then this method may prove beneficial.
